Thai on the River would be nicer during warmer weather. We went when it was raining and so the view was not brilliant. The food is average Thai cuisine, but the cocktails were great!

An excellent evening out. The food was very good. We sent back a fish because it wasn't cooked properly. They quickly replaced it without fuss then gave us free desserts. A good range of dishes which were full of flavours without being too hot. We have been before and will go again.

As usual, another great evening at Thai on the River... Great food (if maybe slightly overpriced) and relaxed atmosphere by the river... This time was with a large group - and there was unanimous approval for the venue and cooking...

Thai on the River is in a great setting for a casual, informal evening out. The prices veer slightly to the high side for the level of service on offer but the food is good and authentic.

Excellent food, and a great location.... steer clear of the Thai wine though (sometimes ordering quickly without reading can be a bit of a mistake!)

It was a lovely evening when we visited Thai on the River and we sat outside on the terrace overlooking the Thames. The service is charming and the food delicious. The Top Table 50% off food offer made the evening perfect. I will definitely be going again.

Thai on the River is one of my favourite Thai restuarants. The recent special-50% off food bill-was too good to miss for a Sunday evening dinner alfresco beside the Thames. The service was a smidgeon slow(London fever!)but gave chance to enjoy the sunset & surroundings.Food was delicious!!Try the Chefs Recommended Prawn-Mango stirfry. They had run out of the pancakes which was a pity.If you like Thai, want something romantic, this is definitely worth it!Go when there is a special otherwise tad pricey

Thai On The River was great, beautiful food - certainly the best Thai I've ever had but I'm exactly not the world's expert! The setting was lovely though not sure how idillic it would be when raining, but we were lucky.

A fantastic evening was had, and made very special thanks to the amazing service provided by the staff. Table provided on the terrace as the staff had noted that my mother was with me, and moved us from our window seats especially. Top Table deal proved great value for money, and I shall definetley be returning to this fantastic restanurant.

Thai on the river, Battersea - we visited here on Saturday 2nd June 2007, the weather was fantastic and we were given a table overlooking the thames. The food was fantastic and the service was great. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restuarant to anyone. Obviously, weather is very hard to predict but on a sunny summers evening it doesnt get a lot better than this.

Thai on the River is in a lovely location although a bit of a walk from Clapham Junction. Food was nice and good value with Toptable offer. Only bad point being service was pretty poor. In the end we went to the bar to get our own drinks!

2nd time at Thai on the River and 2nd time using the 50% off deal. Really hasn't disappointed on either occasion and the minor minor quibbles from last time were ironed out. As good thai food as you'll have anywhere (incl Thailand). very fragrant, very delicious, very delicately flavoured dishes, with no weaknesses between curries, fish, meat starters. Also nice line in both non- and alcoholic cocktails too. Decent wine list.

It was seven when we arrived. By the time we were finished, or by the time
we took a break from eating and drinking and looked around: the place was
empty and it was eleven. No, I wasn't in that infamous American convenient
store: I was in a spicy scrumptious heaven, Thai heaven, tiger-weeping high
heaven.
I've been to Thailand, and I've been to Battersea before. They have nothing
in common, and you wouldn't have thought that the mix would result in the
form of a serene, exotic and luscious restaurant. Well, you thought wrong,
this is exactly what Thai on the River prescribed. Chan-suung is loosely
translated from Thai as meaning high-class, or of a fine disposition: this
is the closest word I've found to describe Thai on the River (how fitting
for it to be in Thai). The decor is a mix between spiritual and chan-suung
fusion, the staff are extremely sweet, silent and shuffle-y (always at your
side) and the food is simply celestial.
What hits you first is how quiet the place is. Not because it's empty, but
because it is so serene, albeit slightly secluded, it emanates a very (dare
I say it) groovy atmosphere. There are Thai lounging chairs on the
porch-seating area as well as inside, the sofas where we waited to be seated
were divine, basically, the place is smooth.
Hoi Chell Neung, Chub Pang Tod, Tom Ka Gai, Plar Goong, Plaa Neung Girm Buey
and Siron Hai. I haven't gone mad, these are just the names of the dishes we
had, along with Satay-Chicken, Tom-Yum Soup and Fragrant Jasmine Rice. I
believe the last three are more self-explanatory than the rest, but it's
pretty easy to get lost around the menu as the English descriptions on the
menu are even more poetic than the Thai names (for example, the steak dish
is served "weeping tiger style").
So, if you start with these recommendations you may not have to waste time
to enjoy your evening, although I managed to spend a whole four, although
extremely enjoyable, precious hours there! I practically ate half the food
in the restaurant, so the list above is not only specially chosen it also
ranges from seafood to vegetables, to sirloin steak. If my sweat, blood and
effort has not been enough for you- the menu also has cute chilli, nuts and
vegetarian icons to guide you.
They also offer a SPICE UP YOUR TASTEBUDS SUNDAY LUNCH BUFFET... I never
thought I would ever think of heaven as plain.

Stephanie: A top dinnign secret in a secluded location with stunning riverside view. True thai food with modern wine bar in battersea village. You need to visit to taste the experience.
